Bro George Webbon

How has the Five of Nine Club supported your experience so far?

I am new to Five of Nine, but since joining I have had opportunities to meet new, young masons whilst doing fun activities!

They also have a huge amount of resources available which has pointed me in the best direction when I have strived to make my own daily advancement in Masonic knowledge!

What have you learned about yourself since joining?

Since joining Freemasonry, my confidence has grown when it comes to presenting. Learning ritual and “performing” during our meetings has been a wonderful and rewarding challenge.

What is the one thing about Freemasonry you would like others to know?

Freemasonry, despite having in this own harmless secrets and ritual, has an enormous charitable impact on local and national communities.

The time and effort which brethren put forward to good causes is immeasurable and I am proud to call myself a Freemason!

George, its great sit down with you - can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am George, 26 years old and airline pilot from Windsor! I spent some time abroad when growing up but have been in the midlands for the past 15 years. Some of my hobbies include bouldering, plane spotting, Lego and this summer I intend to become a master BBQ’er

What was it that attracted you to Freemasonry originally?

As a son of a mason (Lewis) I was always wondering where my father would head to once a month. As I became of age, my dad and one of my good friends both suggested I looked into joining freemasonry.

After some personal research and some encouragement, the mysteries and secrets were too great to ignore, but my charitable and open nature led me to joining the Lodge.

When did you join?

I joined in October 2019 - and I have enjoyed every minute so far!

What have you enjoyed the most about Freemasonry since joining?

The fraternal and friendly nature of everyone which I have met within my Lodge and beyond has been amazing. I have met a variety of people of different ages, backgrounds and careers and have been keen to learn more about them and make new friends.

The opportunities Freemasonry provides to not only grow and improve myself, but to support the community are great.

Also, who doesn’t enjoy the festive board?

Bro George had the unique experience of being prepared for his first degree by his father
